Where Did We Go Wrong?
One of the interesting things about the new found set of historic family photos is the noticeable trend from pretty to ugly. Here's a nice juxtaposition from pre-immigrant relative to immigrant homesteader relatives:

I think labeling the second photo as "ugly" might be somewhat harsh. Why not meet the first pic halfway and compromise to "pretty ugly."
